Interior Walls
To clean an interior wall wrap, you will need a bucket, clean rags, duster, dishwashing soap and water. Make sure the dishwasher soap does not contain lotion.
First, dust off the wall using a duster. For higher areas, dusting it off is sufficient, as they are not exposed to traffic or dirt.
Fill both sides of the bucket with clean water. On one side, create a soapy water mixture using about 1 part soap and 100 parts water. Wet a clean rag in the soapy water mixture.
Wipe the wall in the horizontal direction from top to bottom. Make sure you wipe in the direction of the overlap so you don’t lift the seams.
Dip a new rag in the clean water. Rinse the wall from top to bottom. The frequency of cleaning an interior wall depends on how fast the wall accumulates dirt and dust. Pressure washing the wall is not recommended.
Exterior Walls
To clean an exterior wall you will need 2 mops and a soapy water mixture. Again, fill both sides of the bucket with clean water.
For an exterior wall use 3 parts soap and 100 parts water. Wet the mop using soapy water mixture. Clean the wall using long vertical strokes from top to bottom.
Once you have cleaned the entire wall with soapy water mixture, dip the new mop in clean water. Then, rinse the wall from top to bottom to remove all traces of soap.
The frequency of cleaning an exterior wall varies depending on how quickly the wall accumulates dirt. Start with every two-weeks and observe dirt build up over time.
Keeping the wall wrap clean will ensure it looks it’s best for the life of the installation.
